Holiday cottage in Montbrun-les-Bains
On the heights of Montbrun-les-Bains, a village classified among "the most beautiful villages in France" with an exceptional view on this typical perched village of the Drôme Provençale, the gîte is located about 1 km from the village, in a hamlet of five houses.
The environment is bucolic and very quiet.
The Valvital thermal baths are at a walking distance (about twenty minutes) or accessible by car.
At the bottom of the village, several restaurants, a pizzeria and a minimarket are open all year round, as well as a pharmacy and a post office. A bakery is open every morning from 7:30 am except Monday.
In the medieval part of the village, a café, an ice cream parlor and a small restaurant offer the opportunity to take a break while admiring the superb landscapes of the hills and foothills of Mont Ventoux.
The local Saturday morning market presents a lot of fruits and vegetables from the region, delicatessen and other specialties such as lavender products and Provençal textiles.

Favorites
Sporting activities
Montbrun-les-Bains is located east of Mont Ventoux whose silhouette characteristic, with its white top can be seen from virtually every corner of the village.
Independently of the mythical ascent of the 1912 meters of this summit,
cycling is king throughout the region and the possibilities for cycling are endless.
The discovery of the medieval village with its "calades", typical cobbled streets of Provence, its romanesque church, its belfry and its perched castle
(visit not allowed) worth dedicating one to two hours to it.
For hiking enthusiasts, the hills surrounding Montbrun-les-Bains offer an almost infinite choice of all levels walks, ranging from a simple walk from the fountains trail (about an hour) to a day hike to the heights of Ferrassières or the Nesque gorges.
An experience to try if you are not afraid of getting wet is the so-called "pas du Ventoux" excursion which takes walkers into the very bed of the Toulourenc river, among the rocks and the torrents (accessible with children of at least six to seven years.
An other activity that can be done with children a little experienced is the Accrobranche park where young people (and possibly not so young) can try their hand at wooden walkways and other zip lines.
For photographers
Mont Ventoux with its white peak shimmering in the sun is, without a doubt, the star of the region.
The perched villages of Montbrun-les-Bains, Reilhanette or even Brantes offer picturesque views both under the summer sun and in the midst of the warm colors of autumn.
In the lavender season, the variations of mauve and violet are a delight for photographers.
Let's not forget the culture...
For lovers of culture and "old stones", Vaison la Romaine and its Gallo-Roman remains are only 3/4 hour away.
The journey to Orange and its famous, well-preserved ancient theatre mainly dedicated to musical events, takes just over an hour.
The same goes for Avignon, its well known Saint-Benezet bridge and its not less famous Palais des Papes, whose main courtyard is one of the emblematic places of the annual theater and live performance festival.
A different kind of culture...
Leaving Montbrun-les-Bains, as soon as you descend towards the valley, the vineyards are everywhere.
For connoisseurs but also amateurs, the southern Côtes du Rhône and the Côtes du Ventoux offer only the embarrassment of choice, both in rosés, in whites but especially in red wines. To name just a few of the best-known appellations, Gigondas and Vacqueyras are less than an hour's drive away, as is the legendary Chateauneuf-du-Pape. There are many winegrowers and other nuggets with less prestigious names can be discovered during your wanderings.
Local markets
Tourists who like markets will find what they are looking for in the region practically every day of the week: Monday in Bédoin, Tuesday in Vaison la Romaine, Wednesday in Sault and Buis-les-Baronnies, Thursday in Nyons and Saturday in Carpentras.
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgues (63 km) is the French flea market capital and a paradise for bargain hunters.
In addition, in Montbrun-les-Bains and almost all the surrounding villages are organized, in summer, craft markets and theme days (wellness, lavender, local cheeses, etc...)
